Patrick
D. Vellone received his undergraduate degree, magna
cum laude, in Political Science from Northern Illinois
University in 1982. He then went on to receive his Juris
Doctorate from the University of Colorado School of Law
where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif in 1985. He
is a member of the National Panel of Arbitrators for the
American Arbitration Association and the National
Association of Securities Dealers (n/k/a) FINRA. Mr. Vellone
has spoken at the American Bar Association National
Conference concerning lender liability law (1991). He also
co-authored the Uniformed Commercial Code Compliance Manual
for Lenders (1994). Mr. Vellone’s primary area of practice
is complex commercial litigation with particular emphasis on
lender liability defense, securities, contract and
bankruptcy creditor representation. Mr. Vellone has been a
member of the Colorado Bar since 1985, is a member of the
Denver and American Bar Associations and is licensed to
practice in Colorado, the United States District Court,
Districts of Colorado, Eastern and Western Districts of
Arkansas and Eastern District of Wisconsin, the United
States Court of Appeals for the Second, Eighth and Tenth
Circuits, as well as the United States Supreme Court. Mr.
Vellone has been admitted to practice for particular cases
in numerous federal and state courts throughout the United
States. Mr. Vellone is a Martindale-Hubbell AV rated
attorney and has been named a Colorado Super Lawyer in 2007
- 2013. Mr. Vellone is also a Fellow of the
Litigation Counsel of America.
